Located in a development along Lake Guntersville in northern Alabama this project is the retirement home for a couple who will be returning to their southern roots. The house is conceived of an assembly of elemental pieces that acts as a threshold connecting the suburban street side of the property to a gently sloping lawn to the lake. A single double height living area is seen as a large porch overlooking the water. A separate pavilion built of ground-face concrete block and cypress siding houses the guest rooms on the lower floor and the master suite above.
